Kelley Key: Assistant Principal

It is a great honor to be serving Waterville Community Elementary School as assistant principal.

I am a veteran educator who continues to be inspired daily by students.  I also strive to steadfastly support educators within the school setting in order to improve outcomes for all learners.

I received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Wesleyan University and continued my education at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University.

Throughout my 31 year career in public education, I have been shaped by countless mentors and crossed paths with innumerable students who’ve left indelible impressions on my heart.  Growing up in a rural area and working in multiple small, rural school districts in a variety of roles has helped me to be  keenly aware of how a quality education can be life-changing. I have also seen the value and necessity of collaboration to provide the best opportunities for students.  Educating young minds is a monumental task, but many hands make the work better!

When I’m not supporting teachers and students to grow to be the best they can be, I’m instilling that mindset into my three amazing children.  I love spending time with them and my supportive husband.  Together, we are loving life’s blessings by worshiping together, spending time outdoors, staying healthy, reading, and listening to music.
