All about Mrs. Dunn
Hello!
My name is Amanda Dunn, and I am passionate about reading! I have had a love for books since I was very young, and I'm always reading something! This makes my third year teaching Reading Intervention, and I love it! I believe reading is a cornerstone to learning. If a child can read well, it opens up so many opportunities to them as an adult, compared to non-readers. I encourage all my students to keep trying different genres until they find something they love!
I have an associates degree from Cleveland state, and was working on my bachelor's at Lee for early childhood education when I got married and started a career with the US Postal Service. I left after fourteen years to stay at home with my youngest child before she started school, and to volunteer at Waterville. Volunteering turned into teaching, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to influence kids who are struggling to read, and encourage them to find joy in reading!
